3 Things to Consider When Buying a Turnstile

When you're considering installing turnstiles at your premises or for your event, then you might be looking for turnstile buying advice.

You'll quickly find that there a range of different turnstile options, each with their own unique advantages.

Here at TDZ we're always on hand to offer advice. We start by asking clients to consider three different things to help them make their decision:

1) The Level of Security You Want to Provide

Your first consideration should be the level of security that you need to provide. This will of course be dependent on the nature of your event or the type of business premises.

If the location is considered particularly high risk, and likely to attract intruders, then you will require a higher level of security, and may be recommended a full height turnstile or security portal.

Alternatively, if you're having issues with people sharing access passes or pin codes, then swing gates or Tripod Turnstiles with biometric technology can help to solve the issue.

2) What Space Do You Have Available?

You then of course have the practical consideration to make, which is exactly what amount of space do you have and what's the best way to use it.

Think about the flow of traffic, the throughput rate, and how quickly you need people to be able to move through your premises. Our units typically allow access to 30 user cycles per minute.

Don't rule out certain turnstile options because you're looking for a temporary solution, as turnstile units can be added and removed as needed, installed on floor mounted plates for easy cable access.

At TDZ we're happy to visit your premises and advise you on how to get the most from your space.

3) What Impression Do You Want to Give?

Thirdly, think about the impression you want to give people visiting your premises.

If you work in a bright and contemporary office space, and want to appear welcoming to customers, while still being protected, then glass speed gates might be right for you.

Alternatively, if you want the entrance of your building to really ward off potential intruders from a distance, then you'll probably need to consider a full height turnstile.

We know it's a big decision and investment for you and your business, so if there's anything you need to know then get in touch. We're TDZ specialists and always on hand to offer guidance.
