National Day is a legal holiday established by a country to commemorate the country itself.

They are usually the independence of the country, the signing of the constitution, the birthday of the head of state, or other anniversary of great commemorative significance; some are the saint’s day of the country’s patron saint.

Although most countries have similar anniversaries, due to complicated political relations, this holiday in some countries cannot be called National Day. For example, the United States has only Independence Day and no National Day, but the two have the same meaning.

In ancient China, the emperor’s ascension and birthday were called "National Day".

Countries around the world determine the National Day according to various reasons. According to statistics, there are 35 countries in the world whose National Day is the time of their establishment. Cuba and Cambodia took the day of occupation of the capital as their national holiday. In some countries, National Independence Day is the national holiday.

On January 1, 1804, the Haitian people annihilated Napoleon’s 60,000 expeditionary forces and declared independence in Port-au-Prince. Since then, January 1 has been designated as National Day. The same goes for Mexico, Ghana and other countries. Some countries also regard the anniversary of the armed uprising as their national holiday. July 14th is French National Day. [2] 

On this day in 1789, the people of Paris captured the Bastille, a symbol of feudal rule, and overthrew the monarchy. Some other countries regard major conference days as their national holidays.

The United States regards the "Declaration of Independence" adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776 as its National Day. 

In Canada, the British Parliament passed the "Great Britain and North America Act" on July 1, 1867 as its national holiday. There are also countries that use the birthday of the head of state as the national holiday, such as Nepal, Thailand, Sweden, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium and other countries.

National Day is an important holiday in each country, but the name is different. Many countries call it "National Day" or "National Day", some countries call it "Independence Day" or "Independence Day", and some call it "Republic Day", "Republic Day", "Revolution Day", "Liberation Day" , "National Renaissance Festival", "Constitution Day", etc., and directly add "day" to the name of the country, such as "Australia Day" and "Pakistan Day", and some use the king’s birthday or the day of ascending the throne as the national day. If the king changes, the specific date of National Day will be changed accordingly.
